I have a fun craft that I would lile to share with all of you :)
So Monday I took the kids down to the Library for Marvelous monday, well at Marvelous monday they sing sons, learn new things, read and so on and after they always do crafts.
Well for Monday's craft I thought was real interesting but of course after learning about crickets it made sense!
At first while picking up the supplys I looked at everything I had which was very simple supplies but I pondered how do I put this together? Lol
While looking at the sample craft I understood a bit how it was done and after fiddling around with it, I soon made a cricket!
It is fairly easy to make and fun too! Specially with older kids (since my daughter is two and half years old, I had to make it for her)
Here are the supplies you need :
Googly eyes (small size)
Comb (small size) (black)
Fuzzy sticks (black) (one long one and two halves)
Scissors (two cut the fuzzy stick into two halves)
Hot glue gun (to glue eyes on comb)
Green thin little thread like (pictures will explain it.)
What you need to do :
What you want to do is break the comb in half.
Use the glue gun to glue the eyes on the bigger end.
Now take the big fuzzy stick and wrap it around the comb and twist it (fiddle with the legs to make them look similar to the back legs of a cricket)
(Cut one of the fuzzy sticks to make two halves for th two front legs)
Now take the two halves and do the same like you did to the back legs, only put them in the front by the eyes (front legs)
Now fiddle around to get the legs to how you want them to be :)
Once all that is taken care of take the green like thread and wrap it by the eyes to male it lool like the antennas and whoo la!
You have yourself a little cricket!
Since everything was already ready for us to put together, I did the best I could to explain this project and how to do everything :)
I really liked this craft and so did my daughter!
You can also print out (or even photo copy, shoot you can even draw it) a picture of a cricket for the kids to color! :)
Learn a bit about a cricket and that's what makes this project fun for the kids!
